Navaratnas i.e. ruby, pearl, coral, emerald, topaz, diamond, blue, sapphire, garnet, these nine are called Navaratnas. Many people are familiar with these stones only for use in jewelry. The ancient Indian Ayurvedic doctors discovered these medicinal properties through their research and used them extensively in their medicine. They fully explained their research findings in their books. These are mostly in Sanskrit script. Lately I have collected such ancient texts and done some research on them. According to astrology, ruby means sun, pearl means moon, coral means mars, emerald means green means Mercury, pushyaraga means Guru, diamond means Venus, blue means Saturn, Vaiduryam means Rahu, and garnet means Ketu. And one can get rid of the Grahapida by wearing the gems for the respective Graha Doshas.
Now let me tell you the uses of Navaratna in Ayurveda.
* Ruby -
This ruby is popularly known as Padmaragam. The lotus leaf is crisp with weight. Very bright. A clear, heavy, round ruby is pure. This ruby is purified in the right ways and put on the face and the bhasma used calms vata, pitta and mucus in the body and creates fire. Makes the body strong. And those who wear it will get rid of evil and evil. It is effective in mental disorders like anxiety.
* Pearl -
A pearl that is round and has a white light, light, watery light, clear and beautiful is auspicious. It should be understood that the one that shines and has layers on top is not a good pearl. Such pearls should not be used.
Diseases like blood gall and tuberculosis will be eradicated for people who burn a good pearl and burn it in one dose daily. It gives good health to the body. Extends life. Increases semen, increases Jatharagni in the body and makes the body excited.
* Coral -
A large coral with a red color like a well-ripened dondab and a round smooth shell without any pits, curls, ridges, etc. is the best. It is auspicious.
Good coral is collected and soaked in Sahadevi leaf juice. If it is burnt and consumed, it will cure tuberculosis, blood biliousness, gonorrhea, eye diseases and poisons. It causes fire, digestive power, relieves fatigue and gives light and strength to the body. It is especially used for touch pain.
* Garuda Pacha -
A good pale green color is heavy and smooth with a smooth finish. Very bright. It can be used in medicines. White, black, bumpy, brittle emerald means it is not good.
Garuda Pacha is soaked in cow's milk, purified and burnt and consumed to cure diseases like boils, boils, poisons, acute fevers, common fevers, vomiting, respiratory problems, measles, fire. Gives a lot of light to the body and does good.
* Topaz -
Pushyaraga is clean, smooth, fat, heavy, free of lumps and has a purple color and shines brilliantly. The one having these qualities is the best. Also, it is not good if it is dark green or very white.
Consuming its bhasma will cure severe thirst, vomiting, gout, leprosy, and poisons and bring great light to the body.
* Diamond -
This vajra has three species namely feminine, masculine and neuter.
Purushavajra is called Purushavajram, which has eight edges, eight quadrants, and six angles, shining like a rainbow and shadowing like water.
Women's diamonds are those that are round and have a hard core shape.
A diamond that has faded roots, a top and is very round is called a neuter diamond.
A good male diamond removes all the ailments that are used by consuming the diamond, it causes development of semen, it removes impotence and gives good appetite. It is nectar for humans.
* Blue -
It has two different types namely aqua blue and indra neela. Indranil is the best in this. Aquamarine is lighter and has a white undertone. The blue is heavy and the black is not mixed with the blue, but the blue is light and smooth and has a light in the middle without any impurities. It is the best.
This blue is soaked in the urine of a donkey and dried in the sun of good intensity.
Using this bhasma cures respiratory and cough diseases. Viriyavardhakam, drains tridoshas. Increases fire intensity. Removes poison ivy, mulashankha disease and sinful diseases.
* Disagreement -
Black and white light is equal, pure, heavy, crisp, with a layer of fine white northern light. If it is black but not white, it is scaly, and it has a layer like the northern part of red, it should be recognized as a bad disorder. Not good.
It is soaked in kondapindi rasa, dried and roasted well
