Methods of bathing described in Ayurveda - rules
Bathing removes physical impurities and gives health and vitality to the body. Cold bath is good for healthy people. Bathing with warm water will bring health to those who wake up sick and have cough, phlegm and fatigue.
Ayurveda explains bath water in this way. Bathing in river water gives best results. Bathing with water from a pond or tank gives moderate results. Kupa water i.e. bathing with water from a well gives bad results. Bathing with standing water in pots and other vessels also gives bad results.
* Before bathing, which part of the body should be rubbed with oil. Some make four with gram flour, pesarapindi and sunnipindi. Body massage allows the oil to enter the internal parts of the body through the pores. Next it is better to stop for half an hour and take a bath.
* Bathing with rain is good. Daily bathing with water improves digestion. It also increases longevity. So you get enthusiasm, strength and health.

* "Tripisnanam" is described in Ayurvedic texts. It is said that one should bathe three times a day.
* Do not take bath with hot water every day. The strength of the hairs and eyes will decrease.
* Bath should be taken before eating. People suffering from flatulence and thirst should do it once a day. They should not bathe often.
* People suffering from mouth, ears, nose diseases and paralytic patients should not practice water bath.
* It is good for healthy people to take a bath after massaging the head with oil.
* It is good to take a bath with oil in the ear. Massaging the head and soles with oil and taking a bath soothes the body.

* It is better for men to bathe on Saturday and for women on Friday.
* Those who have diseases like cough and nemmu and those who have frequent diarrhea and indigestion should not take bath.
* It is good for a healthy person to take a bath every day. It is good to take a bath with oil on the head once a week.
