Land survey method in Vastu Shastra - Complete explanation.

The land to be built should be thoroughly tested first. If you build a house without a land survey, everything will be in vain. Not all earth is the same. Some places are gravel, some are grassy lands, and some are stony lands. That is why the sages informed that the land to be built has to be tested whether it has suitable properties and then the house should be built. That is why a site test is necessary first.

  * Field test first method. -

In the place where you want to build a house, dig a small pit with a depth of one cubit (muredu) and fill that pit with water after sunset and if you see a little water in that pit in the morning, then the land in that pit is suitable for building that house. The land where water does not stand and only mud is medium, the land is completely waterlogged and the soil is dry or the land is not suitable for house construction. The same method can be used to find groundwater in the ground.

  * Field test is the second method. -

In the middle of the land where you want to build a house, a pit should be dug a hand deep. The pit should be filled again with the excavated soil. If the soil is left after filling, then the land is known to be suitable for building houses. If Mannu is less then it should be known that the place is not suitable for house construction. Mannu is the perfect medium.

The two methods mentioned above are accepted by all sages.

It is not good for the owner to find various kinds of worms, frogs, insects, bran, bones, ash etc. while digging a pit. If you build a house in a place where coals, burnt sticks, shells etc. are found and live there, you will suffer from diseases and poverty. There is no harm in Shalyam (bone) if it is more than six feet deep in the ground.

Land with darbhas is auspicious for house construction. Blood-colored earth brings wealth and vahanayoga. Green land like kashigaddi is very beneficial. Black earth with common grass is not suitable for house construction.
