Types of Ayurvedic Medicines
* Potion -
When the potion is boiled, it should be boiled without covering it. If closed, the potion will not spoil. The ingredients to be used in the potion are 4 tulams of food (herb) and grind them finely, put them in a new pot, add 2 cups of fresh water, boil it in a low flame, strain it, and give it to boys in a quarter to a tulam dose and to adults up to 4 tulams. 4th part should be given to gout patients, 8th part to bile patients and 16th part to mucous patients. For phlegmatic patients who have to add honey, add 4th part, 8th part for bilious patients and 16th part for gouty patients. Cumin, guggilum, shilajit, alkalis and asafoetida should not be added more than a quarter.
* Kalkamu -
Ginger and other dry ingredients are ground with Udakamu (water) and the juice is mixed with it. In this kalka, the money should be in balance. When you have to mix ghee, honey and oil in this batter, double one over the other, jaggery and sugar should be added in equal parts.
* Churna -
Grind the dried fruits finely and make cloth (put the ground powder on a soft cloth and hold it in a sieve) and take from Aratulam to 1 Tulam, for small ones from 1 masha (1 gram) to 3 masha.
(3 grams) should be taken according to the body type, the strength of the disease and the time difference of the country.
In this churn, jaggery should be added equal to the amount of churn, sugar should be added in double the amount of churn. The asafoetida that has to be mixed with it should be mixed with neti. Ghee should be added in double amount of asafoetida and water should be added in four times to churna.
If you have to drink crushed milk, tablets, lehyam, kalkum, etc., you should drink 12 tulams in case of gout, 8 tulams in bilious disease, 4 tulams in mucositis.
Churna should be bhavana (soaked and dried) and juice should be added to it before crushing and the juice should be preserved until it thickens. It takes 24 hours to conceive once.
* Timing of taking medicines -
Medicines in powder form, decoction form etc. should be taken in the morning and evening. It is best to take it especially in the early morning i.e. before sunset and in the evening after dusk i.e. after dark. Many times for impossible diseases, morning time for vomiting and diarrhea, evening time is best for Kalikadu.
